Board of Directors
Deana Fein – President

A widow and mother of three, Deana has long been dedicated to supporting the Jewish community and its institutions. Her strong connection to AACI is especially personal, as her daughter, Ilanit, was an employee of the organization. Additionally, Ilanit participated in AACI’s Student Connect program during her student years and remains actively involved as an alumni, continuing the family’s legacy of engagement with AACI.
Deana’s own professional career includes serving as a staff member at AACI, where she worked as the Overseas Liaison to Federations and other organizations, building meaningful partnerships and advancing the mission of AACI. She has also established and managed AACI mortgage funds, specializing in loan fund management, and she continues to volunteer her time overseeing loan funds and serving on the Audit Committee for the cemetery fund, ensuring that vital community resources are well-managed and sustainable.
Her unwavering commitment to the Jewish people, the organizations she supports, and her tireless volunteer work reflect Deana’s deep dedication to her community. Diena’s extensive experience in both professional and volunteer roles makes her an invaluable asset to any board, and she would bring passion and strategic insight to the goals of AACI.
David Mink – Treasurer
David, CPA and Jurist, was employed by the National Technical Junior College, an NPO on the Technion Campus, as the CFO where he worked for 33 years. He and his late wife, Sharon, made aliya in 1983 and moved to Haifa shortly thereafter. Together they have three daughters and six grandchildren. David has a B.B.A. Degree in Accounting from the University of Georgia, U.S.A. and a LL.M. Degree from Bar Ilan University.
David previously served as the Treasurer of the Haifa Branch of AACI before it was closed and has been a member of AACI since moving to Israel. He’s looking forward to becoming more involved with AACI and helping it to navigate all the changes in these interesting times.
He is a member of the Audit Committee of his shul and has been a member of Mt. Carmel Lodge No. 44 of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons since 2008. He enjoys taking walks at the beach.
Lori Sloman – Secretary
Lori is also a member of the advisory board who brings her experience as a veteran Olah and expertise in health promotion and community building to support the members of AACI.
Originally from Connecticut, Lori made Aliyah with her husband and children from Silver Spring, Maryland in 2000 and settled in Gush Etzion. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University Nursing School. A mother of 10 (bli eyon hara), she works to promote healthy habits and lifestyles in women of all backgrounds.
In her spare time, Lori enjoys making muffins for her grandchildren, drinking coffee and protecting her plants from the family dogs. She always takes the stairs.

Miriam Barth, originally from Michigan, made aliyah to Jerusalem nearly a decade ago. Since then, she has been actively involved in the non-profit sector, including working at AACI. Miriam is deeply passionate about strengthening the connection between Jews in Israel and the diaspora, and she believes the AACI Remembers program plays a crucial role in fostering this bond.
