What Is Conducting All About?

This music lecture is part of AACI’s Jenny and Max Weil Music Program. 

Maestro Harvey Bordowitz has been esteemed as one of this country’s most innovative and creative conductors and music directors and has guest-conducted orchestras throughout the world. Harvey will tell us about his personal experiences from his 40 years as a conductor. He will give an insider’s look at the strange and wondrous profession of the conductor. What is a conductor? What happens in rehearsals? In the concert?   How do performances differ? What is interpretation?  What makes a great conductor?
