AACI Study Trips – Arava/Kibbutz Ketura

AACI Study Trips – Arava/Kibbutz Ketura

RESUMPTION OF AACI ISRAEL STUDY TRIPS

According to the staff at Kibbutz Ketura, their facility, and regional tourist attractions, are expected to re-open by mid-November, and they are prepared to safely host our group, in their guest quarters, this Winter. With participant health and well-being as a primary concern, they are making special arrangements for cleaning, food service, and programming in full compliance with government guidelines and health regulations.

In addition, we plan to take everyone’s temperature when initially boarding the bus, limit occupancy to 40 participants on a 60-seater bus, require wearing of face masks, and maintain social distancing.

We are, therefore, very pleased to announce that we plan to proceed with our Winter study trip to the Arava/Kibbutz Ketura. This is our most popular destination because of the breathtaking scenery of the Southern Arava, and the warm hospitality of our Kibbutz hosts. Of course, if the Pandemic resurges, and health regulations require, we will cancel without penalty.

The itinerary is still being developed, but sites under consideration include: the Botanical Gardens at Ein Gedi, Park Timna, Hai Bar Nature Preserve, the International Birding and Research Center, Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Authority, a Glass-Bottom Boat Ride on the Red Sea, Five Senses tour at Kibbutz Eliphaz, and the Roman Fortress at Yotvata. In addition, there will be special educational programs and entertainment at the Kibbutz, including a festive banquet dinner, and a sing-along with guide Bill Slott and other musicians.

Due to the popularity of this destination, we anticipate running 2 trips: the first on Nov. 30 – Dec. 3, 2020, and the second on December 7-10, 2020.

Cost is 2150 NIS/person in a double room; 3050 NIS for a single room (100 NIS/person additional for non-AACI members).

If interested in participating, please respond, by email (to jr@hrfmlaw.com or conted@aaci.org.il ), and also indicate if you have a preference for the first week (Nov. 30 – Dec. 3, 2020), or the second week (December 7-10, 2020), or are available either week.

To reserve a place on this trip, please respond as soon as possible, as the number of participants is limited, and participants will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

After many months of sheltering at home, we look forward to renewing our in-country study trips, with appropriate precautions, and great anticipation.
