AACI Study Trip 181 – Upper Galilee/Hula Valley March 2022

AACI Study Trip 181 – Upper Galilee/Hula Valley March 2022

AACI study trips to the Upper Galilee/Hula Valley in March 2022
Limited seats are still available for both dates

Each study trip will feature a guided visit amidst the birds at The Agamon Hula-JNF Nature and Birding Park, an internationally acclaimed bird watching park situated on the Syrian-African rift. Twice a year, no less than five hundred million birds, of over 390 species, pass through this area, including water fowl, birds of prey, and songbirds, as they migrate from Europe to Africa and back. We will partake in a unique, guided birding tour, during Spring migration, in a tractor-pulled safari wagon to see the various birds up-close, without disturbing them.
In view of the popularity of this destination, we are arranging 2 buses on consecutive weeks.
Although the itinerary is not yet finalized, other activities being considered include:

  • Explore the ruins of the ancient Nimrod Fortress named after a biblical hero, the hunter Nimrod who, according to local tradition, dwelt on this summit
  • Discover Tel Dan National Park – a beautiful nature reserve and archeological site containing the remains of a 5000 year old city
  • Visit Tel Hai and learn the story of Yosef Trumpeldor
  • Visit Nimrod Overlook and meet with HEZI SEGEV who built this commemoration site, amazing in its beauty, which allows for a stunning view, from Rosh Pina’s highest point, in memory of his son Nimrod killed in the Second Lebanon War
  • Meet with Eitan Oren on Kibbutz Malkiya and hear about life in the shadow of Hezbollah
  • Enjoy a musical workshop at Wood Song led by Peter Isacowitz who hand-crafts harps & other musical instruments
  • Participate in a pasta making workshop, and/or a cheese, wine and Ice cream tasting at the kosher Adir Winery
  • Tour the new Galilee culinary institute and learn about the Fresh-Start Food Tech incubator (itinerary subject to change).
