AACI Caesarea – The Sand and the Sea
AACI Caesarea – The Sand and the Sea
“The Sand and the Sea…”, Thursday, November 10, 2022 CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF REGISTRANTS.
Join AACI for a riveting day-tour following in the footsteps of Hannah Senesh (Szenes) and Herod the Great: two vastly different personalities, from different eras, who were connected by their fascination with the sea. At the Hannah Senesh House at Kibbutz Sdot Yam we’ll learn about the talented poetess who made Aliya from Hungary at age 18 and wound up at Sdot Yam, before dying heroically during World War II.
At the nearby Caesarea National Park we’ll marvel at the remains from the time of King Herod (d. 4 BCE) and later periods. In particular we’ll spend time in the new visitors center with its state-of-the-art displays and multimedia program. We will also visit the colorful Ralli Museum in modern Caesarea before heading back to Jerusalem.
